Microsoft Windows Options

Swap Files:
Swap file is used by windows to increase your available memory. Swap file manages your computers Virtual Memory. Windows will recreate the file as needed.

Temporary Files:
Windows uses the TEMP folder to store temporary program files. Whenever a user starts any application Windows creates some temp files so that application will run faster and Windows locks that file until the application is closed. This takes a lot of hard drive space, as it does not always get deleted automatically when the application is closed. Selecting this recommended option will delete all the Temporary Files.

Clipboard:
When you copy anything using the windows copy / cut command, the information is stored in the memory. That is the clipboard. So in your absence if someone uses the paste command, the same information that may be highly classified would be available to someone else. Use this option to erase the data.

Windows Registry MRU (For Advanced Users Only):
Check the box if you want to destroy the Registry Stream MRU. This function may affect the layout of your desktop and Windows Explorer.

Windows Registry Streams (All Streams):
Check the box to destroy all registry streams. We highly recommend the Activity log options to be used by advanced users as it may affect the Layout of Windows Desktop and Windows Explorer.

Windows Application Log:
In Windows 95\98 Windows keep information about the application use by user for its better performance. This information is present in the Application Log directory of Windows.

Media Player History:
When movie files are viewed from the Internet / Local machine in Windows Media player, it remembers their names. This option purifies that history. Use this option to clear the Media Player History.

My Documents:
The default file location for MS Office documents are in My Documents. Use this option carefully if you want to delete all the files/ folders to be deleted

Common Dialog History List:
Most Programs use the same dialog window to OPEN/SAVE your files. Use this option to erase the history list of these dialog windows.

Registry Backup
Every time windows registry is changed, Windows takes a backup of the Registry. The Registry backup may contain sensitive data. Choose this option to clean the Registry Backup.

Recycle Bin:
It deletes all the files that are present in the Recycle Bin. It also erases a hidden system file "desktop.ini". This file is recreated the next time when windows boots. This file is used to hold the integrity of Windows Installation.

Recycle Bin Hotkey:
We have integrated a Hotkey feature that will immediately clear the recycle bin. It runs in the stealth mode. In order to have the Hot Key feature enabled, Windows Privacy must be running.
